FOODTOWN CONTRACT VOTE MEETINGS

Contract vote meetings will be held next week for our members employed by Foodtown in Bloomfield, Caldwell, North Arlington and Wayne, NJ.

The meetings will be held in your store this Wednesday, April 29.  The meetings for North Arlington and Wayne will take place at 1:00 p.m.  The meetings for Bloomfield and Caldwell will take place at 3:30 p.m.

Notices regarding these meetings have been posted in your stores.

Foodtown members are encouraged to attend these meetings as you will be asked to vote to accept or reject your new contract with your employer.

Please bring a valid form of ID such as your Union Card or Driver’s License.

WORKERS MEMORIAL DAY THIS TUESDAY, APRIL 28

We would like to remind our members that International Workers Memorial Day is observed each year on April 28.  As in years past, many employers will participate in a Moment of Reflection at 10 a.m. this Tuesday, April 28 to recognize the employees who work tirelessly on a daily basis to help put food on our tables.  It is also a time to honor the Supermarket Essential Workers who have lost their lives during COVID-19.

In years past customers shopping in the stores also joined with management and workers in honoring our brothers and sisters.   We would like to thank the employers in our area who so kindly scheduled this important event.
