LOCAL 1262 HONORS OUR SHOP STEWARDS AT ANNUAL SEMINAR

Did you know that nearly 300 Local 1262 members volunteer their time to serve as Shop Stewards?

These members help their co-workers – our members -- with on-the job issues, questions about union membership and sit in on grievance meetings with management when requested.

On Wednesday, October 21, Local 1262’s Shop Stewards gathered for their Annual Seminar where they received updates on union business, our excellent financial position and more from Local 1262’s President and Officers.

“Our Shop Stewards are the Voice of Local 1262 when we can’t be in the store,” said President Harvey Whille.  “They are the Go-To Person when members have questions or concerns and deserve a round of applause for the assistance they provide our members.”

A special presentation was provided by NJ 2-1-1. 

2-1-1 is a nationwide information and referral service for people in need. This service provides access to crisis and emergency counseling, disaster assistance, food, health care and insurance assistance, stable housing and utilities payment assistance, employment services, veteran services and childcare and family services.

Live specialists are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for free, confidential, and multilingual assistance. 

The 2-1-1 Program operates websites in every state or, for the most immediate assistance, just dial 2-1-1 from any state and you will be connected to local resources.

“Please take a minute to learn who your Shop Stewards are,” said President Whille.  “Their names are located on the Break Room Posters in your break rooms where you can also find other useful union information.”
